Subject matter
This black-and-white photograph depicts a view of the shore of Cape Cod, looking out towards the sea. Taken from an elevated point of view, we see a lone man in the foreground walking parallel to the shoreline. Horizontal white patterns created by breaking waves are visible on the water surface, while further out to sea, the water appears calm.
