Subject matter
Taken during his stay at Gloucester, MA, this photograph depicts a dirty work glove attached to a wooden board. The glove is pictured mid-grip, as if animated by an unseen human hand. The deep furrows of the vertical wood grain in the backdrop are juxtaposed against variegated textures created by dirt and stained speckles lodged into the warp and weft of the fabric of the glove.

Photograph of a dirt-covered white glove in mid-grip on a plank of wood.
