Subject matter
In this sidewalk scene in Selma, Alabama, Evans captures the bustling activity of street life. A black blur smudges the right edge of the frame, ostensibly a fast-moving automobile that passing by. A group of men sit still on a bench, while others mill about by the entrance to a store.
