Label copy
The center of this bifolio shows evidence of the stiches that held it to its binding. The leaf on the right replaced an excised original (note the seam where it was glued in), and may represent an attempt to "spruce up" the manuscript; its decoration is more elaborate and in a different style than that of the leaf on the left.
