At the center of the etching are three or four amorphous figures in white and two shades of black, made in crosshatching. The figures are entwined and have animal and bird-like features. The background is crosshatched to the edges of the page. The print is signed (l.r.) "Max Ernst" and numbered (l.l.) "57/70" in pencil.

Standing bronze figure with recto/verso. The silhouette of the body is rectangular in shape. The heads on both side are simply rendered with rounded eyes and a pursed -lip mouth on one, a button nose on the other; bodies are supported by short legs; sides loosely suggest representations of male and female anatomy with side-by-side scallop shells suggesting a breasted chest on one side, an upward facing frog/toad in the phallus area on the reverse side.

Two abstract figures stand in the central portion of this image.  The figure on the left is much larger than the figure on the right.  The left figure looks toward the right, raising their arms into the air.  They wear a dress that has patterns of waving forms and squiggled lines.  The other figure bends one arm under their chin and has an outfit depicted with lines that curve to right. The background in mostly blank, except for a strip of patterned grey along the left side of the work. The figures stand on a band of black and grey ground.
