Subject matter
British artist Tracey Emin is known for her controversial autobiographical work that gives viewers intimate insight into her unrefined emotions and lifestyle. Love, sexuality, and relationships are common themes in her work. Love is What You Want is also the name of Emin's 2011 retrospective exhibition, and she uses the phrase in other work from the same period.
