Christ's crucifixion forms the central theme for the image, with Mary and other religious figures in the background, in front of another painted background including scenery and floral motifs. The cross in this scene is decorated with a floral motif, and around Christ's waist is a large round shield with a floral insignia, which repeats itself on the loin cloth that appears to be made of a similar fabric. All of the figures are clothed and painted.
