Subject matter
Part of Lopez's later series of work produced after the Second World War, this print shows the distinctly darker view of the world than his previous work. At the same time, the artist was inspired by German Expressionism as the expressive lines and dramatic figures attest in this print. The macabre figures come together in a kind of circus side show.
