Mit der Zeit haben wir mehr Auswahlmöglichkeiten, was wir tragen können. Mode ist ein Prozess dieser Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Es ist auch ein körperlicher Prozess. Der Akt des Anziehens war manchmal ein langwieriges Ärgernis, insbesondere für Frauen. Dieser Prozess wurde ein Thema in der Kunst im Gegensatz zu den fertig gekleideten Porträts oder sogar zum Aktporträt. Dieser Zwischenzustand wird oft mit Unterwäsche dargestellt. Vielleicht beziehen sich diese Darstellungen auf die Freiheit, sich nicht für kurze Zeit um die Freiheit, sich nicht für kurze Zeit um die Erwartungen der Gesellschaft als Frau und das Anziehen zu sorgen. Oder vielleicht genießen die Dargestellten den kreativen Prozess der Mode und den Akt des Anziehens.
