Meet Me at UMMA presents guided gallery experiences for people with memory loss using a multi-sensory approach that offers guests an opportunity to "bring their senses alive" through encounters with visual art. Tours also employ music, movement, storytelling and humor, tactile props and hands-on experiences. Groups are small with enough volunteers to provide one-to-one interaction as needed. The focus is on engagement and joy rather than learning and information. Meet Me at UMMA tours are designed to provide our visitors with a positive, engaging outing. With care, thought, and planning, the Museum gallery environment can be a stimulating and enjoyable lace to connect with others and enjoy the moment.
In this collection you will find touring information, training resources, and additional reading materials.
Meet Me at UMMA is generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Monroe-Brown Foundation Discretionary Fund for Outreach to the State of Michigan, and individual donors.
