Untitled (Shredding Sandcastle)

Robert Migrin, LSA Class of 2010

Inspired by Sandcastle, Anne Truitt, 1984/2.57

There are certain conventions and codes of looking that people carry with them when they encounter paintings or sculptures in the context of a museum. As someone who has skateboarded his entire life these expectations often contradict with my strong desire to skateboard on the objects around me. For this project I wanted to live out the dream of skateboarding a modern sculpture. I had a great time making the video and I hope that people enjoy the experience of watching it as well. I want the video to raise questions about the codes of looking in the museum context, but more importantly, I want people to have fun while watching it.
