Artist(s)Warren LombardArtist NationalityAmerican (North American)Object Creation Date1918Medium & Supportpen and inkDimensions 6 in. x 8 1/16 in. ( 15.3 cm x 20.4 cm )
Credit LineGift of Prof. and Mrs. Alfred H. WhiteSubject matterLombard summered in Monhegan, Maine and developed much of his aesthetic and subject matter there. Monhegan was a well known artist colony that had existed since the mid-nineteenth century. Because of Lombard's focus on line, the depth of the image is condensed. The viewer feels the immediate experience of standing on the coastline because of the flattened perspective.
Physical DescriptionRocky shoreline dotted with trees.
