Subject matter
In this photograph, two woman pose together in the streets of Paris, one wearing nothing but a hat and heels and the other wearing an Yves Saint Laurent's Le Smoking, which is a menswear-inspired tuxedo. The contrast and tension between the two women reflects the strength and glamour of the androgynous suit. This image appeared in French Vogue in 1975.
