Subject matter
In this image, sunlight spreads over calm waters on the coast of San Mateo, California, called Devil's Slide. Water and sky meet in the center of the image in a hazy horizon. The smooth quality of cloud-filled sky contrasts with the ripples on the water. Shadows of clouds reflect on the surface of the water in the bottom half of the image. Patches of light from the sun's rays fade into darker areas in the lower left and right corners of the image.

Physical Description
Intermittent clouds interrupt sunlight reflecting off of a large body of water.
