Subject matter
Very little is known about actor Namakura Karoku I.  He was born in 1781 and held the name Karoku from 1804 until his death in 1859.

The woman in this print sits below a bare tree branch.  She wears a blue robe with white swirls and an outer robe with blue and orange leaves.
