This is an unusual print in several ways. It is dated to the eighth day of the fourth month of the Tempyô year, 1836, which was the day of Iwai Hanshirô VI's death. The print shows Hanshirô gazing at an image of Segawa Kikunojô V, another great onnagata, who had died in 1831.
