In the last years of his life he focused on creating scenes of interior spaces, objects, and still lifes. This work, depicting an ivy plant represents Braque's late interest in plants and flowers which he drew more from his imagination than direct observation, expressing the essence of the objects.
Physical DescriptionThis print is a still life etching of a potted plant. The foreground shows the top of the table on which sits a large plant with five-pointed star-shaped leaves and a seed-pod shown as a cluster of small circles.
