Lettera Amorosa. The poetry was written by Rene Char while Braque created the lithographs inspired by Char's words. In this print, Braque features a bird motif, prominent in his later years. The flying birds often characterize the freedom of Braque's art and spirit.
Physical DescriptionThis print shows two flying birds, facing each other with their beaks touching encircled in a ring reminiscent of a window. The birds and ring are a deep purple color. There are hints of yellow around the birds and an inky mix of soft beiges, browns, and greys makes up the background within the ring.
