This is a hanging scroll painted with ink and color on paper with the main subject of a demon or&nbsp;<em>oni</em>. The demon has horns in its head and stands as if in motion. On its front leg closest to the viewer is a piece of paper with writing. Above its head is an inscription in four lines descending in order from the upper right. On the bottom right corner is another inscription followed by two red seals.&nbsp;

Abstracted, organic shapes in black and gray tones flow through the top three-fourths of the composition. Some small, thumbnail like lines are embedded into the shapes in the center right. A small reddish-colored shape is in the middle of the composition.

Wooden mask with a superstructure of curling horns with blue pigment. The face of the mask is white and the mouth is open with pointed teeth. Attached below the mouth is a panel of fur, possibly monkey fur. The forehead is dark in color while there is blue pigment above each eye. On each side of the head are possible animal figures or horns, while atop the forehead sits another set of horns or hairstyle that points downward, carved with a spiral design.
