Sultana's Dream: Wise Ladies Meeting
Museum purchase made possible by the University of Michigan Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and the Director's Acquisition Committee, 2019
At the center-left of this print, a cat is standing at an angle so it is neither in profile or facing the viewer head on. Its tail is long and curled up in a crescent shape. There are cross hatching lines near the cat's feet that suggest it is standing outside in nature and the background is similarly textured a light grey. The print is numbered (l.l.) "9/15" and signed and dated (l.r.) "J Soriano / 54." in pencil.

A color photograph of a group of children and a cat at a table. Each child engages with something in the room, which is in an organized disarray. Egg shells fall from the table to the floor, toys are strewn about, and an infant and cat sit in the middle of the table.

Birds at Home
Gift from the Collection of David S. Rosen MD, MPH
On a wooden ledge in the foreground, a cat rubs up against a clawed pot holding flowers. The feline's coat is dark with the exception of a white strip running from its belly up to its chin.  An iron railing spans the width of the background. A second pot of flowers without clawed feet is visible behind the cat; some of its flowers appear to be growing through the lattice of the railing.
