Particularly well known for his depictions of British and American troops in France during the First World War, Laboureur fused avant garde ideas with penetrating observations of everyday life to create his own witty and elegant brand of Cubism. The temperamental opposite of the melancholy Marcoussis, Laboureur devised images that are refreshing in their irony and sense of humor.
