Subject matter
Two birds sitting on a flowering plum branch in spring. The lower part of the painting depicts drooping branches and willow leaves under the second bird. The plum flowers evoke a sense of spring and the birds with their splendid feathers, echo the inscription in the corner: "Welcome spring with its miriad colors." The work features diverse colors in the style of 19th century folk paintings.

Physical Description
Hanging scroll depicting two birds at the center perched on branches. One bird has its tail pointed straight up while the other bird appears to be looking down. Small blossoms adorn some of the branches. An inscription is located in the upper right corner. The painting is framed by strips of silk attached to its edge.

This painting depicts two birds sitting on flowering plum branches on a spring day. The tail of the bird on the vertically standing plum branch sits upright in parallel with the branch. The lower part of the painting shows drooping tree branches and willow leaves upon which the second bird sits, looking downwards. The plum flowers which evoke a sense of spring and the birds with their splendid feathers, echo the inscription on the upper-right corner: “Welcome spring with its myriad colors (迎春滿色).” The work features diverse colors in the style of the nineteenth-century folk paintings. It is currently framed by strips of silk attached to its edges.
