Subject matter
Created during Klee's time at the Bauhaus, when it was still located in Weimar, the scene depicts two figures, most likely lovers, who are meeting in the twilight hours. Later labled a "degenerate" artist by the Nazi Regime, Klee's work is often whimsical and humorous while at the same time it creates a dark and grotesque image.

Physical Description
At the center of the page, there is an oil transfer drawing of two figures. The figure on the left is seated and looking towards the figure on the right, who is standing. The whole page is covered in grey watercolor that is darker at the edges. The page is mounted on cardboard and is titled (l.r.) "das Paar in dez Dämmerung," dated (l.l) "1924" and numbered (l.l.) "69" on the cardboard.
