Subject matter
In this photograph, a man in a white lab coat wraps his arm around a suited-up cosmonaut in order to fasten a tube or instrument to his chest. The two men look at each other; the cosmonaut’s expression appears anxious as he seems to listen his companion through his helmet. Numerous wires and tubes come from the cosmonaut’s suit and connect to boxes and machines on either side of the photograph. In fact, monitoring equipment frames the scene, encasing these two figures.
