Subject matter
This photograph features a headless child's doll with another smaller doll stuck into the socket of the larger doll's missing leg. The joined dolls are visible through a tear in the screen of a door. The doll's foot appears to be resting on the thin frame of the door while it leans against the horizontal wooden slates of the side of a house. The unusual subject matter coupled with the close crop of the frame makes for an unsettling image.
