Subject matter
Clouds features a dream like, cloudy environment with nude women. Although Davies was an avid supporter of American realists and the Ashcan School, he preferred imaginary landscapes and romantic scenes for his own art. This print is an example of how he carried over nineteenth century romanticism and combined it with twentieth century printing techniques.

Physical Description
Six nude women in, and as, clouds. Some women lean forward while others are kneeling.
