Photographs of Mexico, and reprinted under Strand's supervision in 1967 as
The Mexican Portfolio. This is the only image included from the year 1932, and was taken at the onset of his travels through Mexico. One of the only landscape images, this photograph provides a setting for the rest of the portfolio, which primarily focuses on the people of Mexico. This landscape image shows various cacti and trees from an arid climate in the foreground. In the background, white buildings sit on the horizon. A large, cloudy sky looms above.
