Credit LineGift of Mr. and Mrs. James Agah, Class of 1989 (BBA)Subject matterIn this photograph of a seascape, the sandy beach and water are so strongly illuminated that sea and sky lack a clear horizon line and instead, appear to blur into one expanse of warm orange light. With the dominant orangish hue that suffuses the scene, the image is an exercise in gradated tonalities, subtly playing out across differentiated zones of wet and dry sand, sun-lit and shadowed faces of rocks, and agitated and placid areas of the water surface. Two miniscule human figures occupy the middleground.
Physical DescriptionImage of a scene at the beach with two figures and rocks.
