Subject matter
In this photograph, three young Cuban boys look down toward the lower-right corner. This triad all have brows furrowed and mouths open in evident dismay or disgust at something out of the frame of the photograph. The close-up view of the boys draws our attention to their intense facial expressions.  The boy closest to the picture plan wears a tattered striped shirt, whereas his two companions have nothing covering their thin torsos. These children are likely out of doors on the street.
