Credit LineGift of Jack A. and Noreen RounickSubject matterDuring the 1980s Steve Gianakos's style was similar to illustrations from childrens stories that were published in the 1950s. The theme is visible here in the limited use of color and the style of drawing. He often combined people and animals, either giving one species the characteristics of another or even turning people's heads into birdhouses in his series of Bird Brains. In this print the gorillas are wearing human clothing and appear to be moving along with their furniture.
