Subject matter
This work was created as a New Year's greeting card from the artist. The inscription written bellow reads "Avec mes meilleurs voeux pour 1953" which translates to "With my best wishes for 1953". Throughout his career, Carzou made several "Voeux de l'Artiste" works, small graphic works that he would likely send to friends and family. This work matches one recorded in Carzou's catalogue raisonné as "Vouex de l'Artiste Pour 1952." It is possible he used this same image again the following year or the cataloguer mistyped the year. This fantastical image of a giantess employs Carzou's typical style of heavily sketched figures and scenes. Here, the lines he has used to compose the woman give her a dynamic quality with her clothing and hair whipping around her.

Physical Description
This print shows a very tall woman holding a large branch or small tree in her left hand against a suggestion of landscape in the background. The work is done in sketched black lines, including the woman's clothing which does not conceal her body.  Below the image is the inscription "Avec mes meilleurs voeux pour 1953"
