Subject matter
In this portfolio of seven selected images, Erica Lennard has included fine art photographs of gardens in Japan, Tunisia, England, France, and Italy; this photograph is of a garden in Shodenji, Kyoto, Japan. The black and white images are enlarged and printed with high contrast, creating moody and grainy atmospheres. Exaggerated black and white forms repeat in the images, flattening the perspectival plane.

Physical Description
A high contrast black and white photograph of a garden. Large shrubs dominate the lower foreground, situated in front of a white wall with tiled roofing. Beyond the wall, tall trees stand against an atmospheric but clear sky.
