Credit LineGift of The Morris and Beverly Baker Foundation, in memory of Morris D. Baker, a graduate of The University of Michigan School of Architecture, 1952Subject matterA group of people stand on a hill. On the left, two young boys walk side by side, seemingly approaching a younger female child. Her silhouette reveals a dress and disheveled hair. In the center of the frame two men converse, while next to them sits a chair and an oinochoe. The figure to the right appears to be an older man, who wears a hat and holds a cane. The slope of the hill seems to make all of the figures (aside from the young girl) appear to be the same height. The lower half of the image includes the human figures, almost silhouettes, while the empty space between them and the sky above fill the majority of the composition.
Physical DescriptionThis image depicts a group of people standing on a hill. The dark figures and landscape contrast with the vast empty sky behind them.
