Credit LineGift of Selma & Gerald LotenbergSubject matterIn this photograph, a group of onlookers crowd on the sidewalk and curb as a policeman stops a woman riding in a toy car. Wearing nondescript black attire, the policeman towers over the woman who sits awkwardly and off balance in the toy car, as her fingers grip onto the miniaturized parts of her vehicle. The space of their encounter on the street appears separated visually from that of their audience, the figures that comprise the audience are arranged in a diagonal plane that runs parallel to and hugs the curb.
Physical DescriptionA policeman stops a woman riding miniature car on the street, while onlookers congregate.
