C2 - Stiffler - Orientalism 
This painting shows a scene set in a courtyard with high white walls that is open to the sky. Beyond the wall there is flowering vegetation, tall trees and a tower with a balustrade with keyhole shaped openings. There are two clay pots resting on top of the wall and an oriental style carpet hanging over one side. Within this courtyard, there are three women who are looking at two small leopards that wear metal chains and stand in a keyhole shaped opening of the far right wall. The women, grouped together on the far left side, are wearing 19th century Moroccan dress, including richly embroidered, garments, headscarves and shoes. There is bright sunlight streaming into the room which creates shadows on the walls and floor.

C2 - Chanchani - yogic body (second paper rotation)
Varahi has a crowned boar’s head on a woman’s body. She sits with her ankles crosses and originally had four arms, the back two have broken away as has the front right hand which had probably been held up in a reassuring gesture. Her left from hand is held down at her left knee with the palm held facing out in a gesture of giving. Her body is softly modeled with a narrow waist and full breasts. She wears jewelry that is in sharp but low relief and includes a series of necklaces forming a collar of decoration and a longer one that falls between her breasts which suggests the sacred thread extending down to her waist at her right. She is naked from the waist up and the lower garment is merely suggested by the heavier folds at the waist. Her head is tilted and her chin/snout had jutted out to the left, but the lower snout is broken away. She wears a conical crown that accents the long diagonal of her face. Dollhouse replica of a two-storey Victorian-style flat in the East End of London. The façade is red brick with white molding. The upper storey has two tall windows that face onto the street; the door into the flat is on the left, and to the right of it is a large bay window. The split-level interior holds a bedroom and parlor, both of which are decorated with wallpaper and furnishings, including cabinets, chairs, tables, fireplaces, and a canopy bed. Reproductions of paintings by Shonibare and Jean-Honoré Fragonard hang on the walls. Two abstracted, bust-length figures, one male and one female, look directly at the viewer with large smiles. The background is tan, and filled with swirling lines and scribbles. The face and eyes of each figure are outlined in thick green, the mouths in thick yellow. The &ldquo;whites&rdquo; of the eyes are red, while the pupils are circles of pale purple. Purple paint drips down from the eyes of the male figure, while the paint on the female figure drips upward.

A splatter painted bird cage stand with a rounded top cage on top in red, green, orange, white and blue. There is mesh on one side of the bottom of the cage that is also splatter painted. Inside the cage hanging from the top is a small bell, part of an American flag and a replica of a human penis, painted black, hanging upside down.

A "Norton Abrasives" wooden crate is filled with empty rusted gallon paint containers with dried paint inside. A cracked rearview mirror is attached to one side and an American flag is smushed into one side of the box. A small toy platypus sits inside one of the paint cans, although the platypus is moveable; instructions to museum state that museum staff can place platypus where they please.

This print is one of a series of ten works in a portfolio titled, "Earth Projects." They were pulled in the Detroit Workshop at the Common Ground of the Arts in Detroit during the summer and fall of 1969. Robert Morris stated, "They are organized around certain phenomena that can best be experienced outside... dust storms, earthquakes, plowed fields, sudden changes of temperature, Indian mounds, concrete dams, formal gardens, steam rising from city streets, natural disasters and aftermath, suburban hedges and gravel paths, burning industrial wastes storage dumps of vast quantities of materials...most of the projects would, if built, be of such a scale that the whole of the work could not be seen. This would allow the body [to explore the work] through walking rather than through an instantaneous visual impression."
