![This dish is decorated only on the inner wall with white inlaid design of several concentric circles. Many of inlaid buncheong ware of this type, with simple decorations, was found in the waste deposit of buncheong kilns in the areas of Ui-dong and Gwanaksan Mountain in the vicinity of Seoul. The foot is unglazed, revealing the clay body, and there remain three spur marks. The glaze is pale blue-green in color and it is well-fired.<br />

Three or four horizontal lines of chrysanthemum run around the rim. There are three spur marks on the inner base: this is the result of stacking vessels on top of one another during ring, separated by supports. Coarse grains of sand are stuck on the outer base and foot. The clay used for this bowl is fine and contains small amount of sand, while the glaze is pale green in color and well fused. Despite having become warped in the kiln, this bowl well illustrates the crude yet solid characteristics of buncheong ware.<br />

![Most buncheong bottles excavated from tombs have damaged mouth. This bottle, too, has been repaired after complete breakage of its rim. The chemicals used during the restoration have flowed down to the center of the body. The rim of the foot reveals the unglazed body and shows the traces of building the foot. The bottle was produced at a kiln in Hakbong-ri, Gongju-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. Its glaze was thinly applied, thus the iron-oxide pigment and white slip have peeled off in many places.<br />

The high iron content of clay and glaze used in white porcelain in the 17th century following the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 (Imjim Warran) resulted in dark color of body, as it appears in this bowl. The foot features traces of coarse sand supports, while there are four sand spur marks on the inner bottom, suggesting that the bowl was stacked among other bowls during firing. Glaze running had formed on the outer surface in some parts and oxidized glaze tinged the overall surface with light yellow.<br />

Bowls of this kind were commonly used as burial accessories in the 15th century Joseon; many have been excavated. This bowl has been rapidly spun and brush-painted with white slip on its inner and outer surfaces. The large amount of sand mixed with the clay has produced a rough texture. Traces of clay supports remain on both the inner base and the rim of foot, indicating that this bowl was stacked among other bowls while separated by clay spurs during firing. The glaze was fused well, producing a glossy surface.<br />
