Subject matter
A brown stoneware (罐 guan) storage jar; the shape and green glaze is an imitation of bronze forms. The two lug handles were probably used to tie down and secure a lid. These types of jars were made in abundance as funerary storage vessels to supply for the afterlife and have been found in the tombs of Han citizens in both the middle and elite classes.

Physical Description
A brown stoneware jar (罐 guan) with a bulbous body, narrow mouth with wide flattened rim, on a flat base, with appliqué bowstring bands around the body and rim, alternating with incised scroll work. There are two animal mask lug handles on opposing shoulders. The upper half covered in a gray-green ash glaze.
