Subject matter
Mark Di Suvero is best known as the creator of sculptures composed of steel and other industrial materials. This print may be a study for one of di Suvero's sculptures. However rather than his signature I-beams, this work is composed of hardware. It is unclear whether this work could exist in real life, it may exist purely in the two dimensional plane. The expressive drawing style in thick black ink is almost painterly and seems to present the drafts for a three dimensional figure.
