Abstract Painting and Sculpture in America exhibition. Ruvolo exhibited widely, and taught at the Art Institute of Chicago (1945-1948), Mills College (1948 summer session), and University of California, Berkeley (1950-1978). Ruvolo was a part of the Berkeley School of Abstract Expressionism.
