Subject matter
Created while the photographer was driving a car, this photograph depicts a view outside the windshield of the street in front of him. The setting appears to be a rural and mountainous. Lunging across the road in front of oncoming traffic, a young calf is pictured mid-sprint in the middle of the street. The glare of the sun backlights the calf and illuminates the smudges and scratches on the windshield. The unpolished, unfiltered effect emphasizes the spontaneity of the moment, and speaks to the photographer’s abilities to respond to unexpected events. To the left of the road, two other cows stand idly by, as if calmly witnessing the tense action occurring before them.

Physical Description
Created looking out of the windshield of a moving car, this photograph depicts a scene of a cow running across a road in front of oncoming traffic. There are hills in the background and a strong glare from the sun on the windshield.
