The head is covered with red pigment and with painted white pigment horse trappings.

This red earthenware head on a thin neck has a petite nose, mouth, and eyes with soft, full cheeks. The figure's hair is pulled up on top of its head, above its two ears. Traces of polychrome pigment remain, showing that the eyes were once painted in detail.

The body is stocky yet elegantly curved. There is loss to the legs. The horse is covered in white mineral pigment, with a blue flowing mane and cloud scroll on its rump, and red, white, and blue horse trappings and saddle.
