The Rooster is singled out by its expressive outlining brushwork and the vibrant red color of the comb. Its decorative flavor is also enhanced by using a specific type of paper called “cloud-dragon paper” (yunlong zhi), as the pattern of décor resembles motifs of cloud and dragon. This large painting of a scholar and two roosters. The scholar sits with books piled behind him, while the roosters below crane their necks to look back at him. The calligraphy on the top right reads:<br />

A couple stand in a very dense and congested space, a broken wall behind them. The woman on the left holds a rooster by the feet and is looking at her husband, on the right, who has his hand extended and his holding a money bagin is left hand. At their feet is a stoppered jar and a basket full of eggs.

This bowl flares out by having a smaller diameter on the bottom and larger diameter along the rim. The outside of the bowl is decorated with red, pink, and yellow peonies with green leaves. The inside of the bowl is decorated with a red rooster. The outside rim of the bowl has two red horizontal stripes, the top rim of the bowl is wavy with many bumps that resemble flower petals, the inside rim is decorated with more peonies.
