It is a earthenware with a man riding a small horse with short legs over a thick rectangle plate. There is a lamp-oil container with hole over the hips of the horse, and a spout sticks out in the front breast of the horse, which enables to pour out water through the inside of the stomach of horse. The figure on the horse wears a triangular hat and armor. The left arm is disappeared.<br />

This scroll features a single profile of a horse. The artist&rsquo;s inscription states that the painting is modeled after Jin Nong&rsquo;s (1687&ndash;1764) famous work entitled Ferghana Horse. Ferghana was the name of an ancient Central Asian kingdom known for its exceptional horses.

Densely painted, this painting depicts a battle with figures both on foot and on horseback.  Fallen figures in the foreground are mirrored by a line of figures still engaged in combat in the futher distance.  The rump of a white horse at the left is balanced by another pale horse and rider (with banner) that approaches the viewer at right.

An outdoor scene of a man next to a stone fountain, with a man on a horse and various other people around. The fountain has an arched top and is part of a stone wall with other rounded arched openings. There is a decoration of an ornate handled urn. There is also a fleur-de-lis watermark.
