This Resource compiles a number of works by artists who were affected by the Spanish Civil War. Many of these artists were forced out of their home country to become exiles first in Northern Europe, mainly Paris, and then in the United States. Some of the works speak directly to the artists’ situation as exiles or comment directly on the political unrest in Spain, while others show less overtly politicized images of everyday life.
