A celadon vessel with a form commonly produced in the area of Yongun-ri, Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do in the early Goryeo period.

Physical Description

The mouth of this dish has been pinched in six parts to produce a lobed shape. This form of vessel is typical of celadon produced in the area of Yongun-ri, Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do in the early Goryeo period. Glaze was thickly applied, and resulted in the very glossy surface covered with fine crazing. The dish has been repaired with a gold-colored substance in three places on the rim, while the outside of its foot retains traces of refractory spurs made from a mixture of coarse sand in three places.
