Subject matter
This set of three prints shows a puppetter Yoshida Senshi in the middle, playing two characters. One on the left is Oiwa, from a ghost story Yotsuya Kaidan, and the other on the right is Nikki Danjō from Meiboku Sendai Hagi (Troubles of the Date Clan). The left print has a scene from Yotsuya Kaidan, and the right print has a scene from Meiboku Sendai Hagi.
