This delicate miniature shrine, meant for private devotions, depicts Vishnu standing on a double lotus pedestal, flanked by his two consorts, Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance, and Saraswati, the goddess of music. Saraswati carries the vina, a lute-like instrument that is indigenous to India.
