Subject matter
This image includes Mrs. C.H. White, Letitia Felix (Jones) and Julia McCune (Flory), frequent subjects of C.H. White. The women are depicted in an orchard, each picking unidentified fruit. This image borrows subject matter and compositional strategies from impressionist paintings, with subtle tonal gradations typical of the pictorialist movement. Light filtered through the orchards' trees creates subtle visual interest on the earth beneath the women, particularly in the lower foreground.

Physical Description
This image includes three women in an orchard. One woman, in the foreground of the scene, bends over and reaches to pick fruit off the ground. In the background, two women pick from a tree, one reaches above her head, the other looks for her next selection.
