Subject matter
A print of a landscape with certain fantastical elements. The application of ink is very dense and then appears to have been blotted. The result is a technique like watercolor that similarly captures the ephemerality of the subject matter. Although the work is largely figural, the technique and the addition of large rings in the sky are incongruous with the rest of the piece. The ambiguity of these elements creates a sense of fantasy or an alternate reality.
