Subject matter
This print is part of a portfolio made in collaboration with Experiments in Art and Technology (EAT) and Moderna Museet as a fundraising effort for artists. Richard Serra, the minimalist sculptor, transcends space with his large scale installations made of industrial sheet metals. His sculptures are often open, allowing the viewer to interact with the work and experience it from multiple visual perspectives. His drawings and prints are strikingly different. Although they maintain the same minimalist formal vocabulary, his drawings are often closed concentric circles. The shapes are more absolute and defined.
